I am having trouble finding the driver for the High Definition Audio Driver - details shown here: Property Value Vendor 8086h Intel Corporation Device 2668h 82801FB (ICH6) High Definition Audio Controller Subsystem Vendor 1028h Dell Computer Corp Subsystem Device 01C4h Command 0006h Memory Access, BusMaster. The headphone jack on the computer uses another sound controller which is not related to HDMI audio. In fact, the HDMI audio is specifically related to the 'High Definition Audio Device' listed in Device Manager. Since HDMI sound is also coupled with video, I figured there is a good chance that the video card driver might be at fault.
So basically I randomly lost my sound after installing Windows 7 again, I checked everything and it looks fine. My rear panel refuses to work, I plug my headphones in the jack with my mic and it refuses to pick it up. The only thing that is picked up is some ATI HDMI audio thing and I installed the realtek audio drivers and they don't even work now. It keeps saying no speaker or headphones are plugged in yet they are plugged in. Also, I got some errors regarding High Definition Audio Drivers having failed to start/install or something.
Any clues on what's going on ?
